If there is one designer who is followed by the stars themselves then, it is Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Sabyasachi Mukherjee is an Indian fashion designer born in February 23, 1974.
Born to a middle class Bengali family in Kolkata.
His mother Sandhya Mukherjee worked at Government Art College and father was not a job holder as he lost his job when Sabyasachi was just 15 years old.
His parents want him to be an engineer but Sabyasachi fought with his family in order to attain his dreams of becoming a fashion designer.
Sabyasachi sold his books to pay for the admission form of NIFT because his parents disagreed for his fashion studies.
Sabyasachi cleared the entrance exam and Join National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata.
Sabyasachi graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology in summer of 1999.
Sabyasachi is also one of the Associate Designer Members of Fashion Design Council of India and youngest member of the National Museum of Indian Cinema.
His first major career break happened in 2001 when he won the award for Femina British Council’s Most Outstanding Young Designer of India,
And got a chance to do internship in London with the world’s best fashion designers.
He was involved in selling the designer merchandise with the Label Sabyasachi.
Sabyasachi Mukherjee earned the distinction of being the only Indian designer invited to showcase at the Milan Fashion Week 2004, and was voted by Asia Inc, a Singapore based business magazine, as one of the ten most influential Indians in Asia.
Sabyasachi Mukherjee is one of the most noted Indian designers, and has gained popularity all around the world with his simple design philosophy: ‘Personalized imperfection of the human hand’.
Sabyasachi believes that the unique positioning of Indian designers is due to the exclusivity of his homeland with its rich history and culture.
The Kolkata-based designer is known not only for his beautiful bridal creations, but also for being one of Bollywood’s favourite designers.
Sabyasachi’s Instagram feed serves as enough inspiration for brides-to-be across India, and even internationally now.
Sabyasachi designed costumes for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s landmark film “Black”, and got National Award for best costume designer in 2005.
Did you know that Sabyasachi Mukherjee was one of the very few guests at the Rani Mukerji-Aditya Chopra wedding?
Not just that, he designed Rani’s bridal outfit in three hours.
Bipasha also wore a quintessential Sabyasachi red lehenga on her wedding and looked absolutely ravishing.

Last year, Sabyasachi started his jewellery line with the same label.
He said,“I am starting my jewellery business with the same principle with which I started by clothing business.”
Though previously he has collaborated with Forever Mark for a line of rings and earrings called Zanyah, this is his own collection.
Last month, He finds that some anonymous Instagram account is copying his designs, Diet Sabya.
Diet Sabya has 94.9k followers on Instagram with some well known popular names, including actor Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon and filmmaker Karan Johar.
There was this conspiracy theory that Karan Johar is Diet Sabya and then Karan came out and said ‘no, no, it’s not me’.
Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s 2018 new collection called Kesribai Pannalal, going crazy on Instagram.
Mukherjee chooses to drop his complete collections all at one go via Instagram lately, sending his loyal followers into a frenzy.
